Lessons in Anarchy and Good Neighborliness from 'The Funniest Movie Ever Made about Rock and Roll!'
This movie only gets funnier and more brilliant as I get older. You give Spinal Tap a worthy tribute with some great insights as a bonus.
Did I leave out any of your favorite lines from the movie? There were so many to choose from! :-D
The scene in Cleveland when they can’t find the stage 😀. Keep em’ comin, Dom!
Janitor: and then there's a little jog there, about thirty feet.
Derek Smalls: A jog?
Janitor: jog to the left...
David St. Hubbins: A jog?
Derek Smalls: We don't have time for that.
:-D
Clever. Definitely.
I love the curiosity/gullibility matrix. Don't think I've seen that before. Good framework.
Thanks! Spinal Tap and the number 11 are closely linked in my mind. The C-G Matrix was something I'd been formulating, but hadn't said out loud until that podcast. Figured it was time to make a graphic and write about it!
Such a talented ensemble and Spinal Tap remains highly quotable 40 years later. Their other mockumentaries are fun as well.
What other mockumentaries have they done? If you have some links or titles I can search, I'd like to check out all the stuff I've apparently missed!
Waiting for Guffman, best in show, a mighty wind, and for your consideration. Oh, and mascots.
All of these are worth your time .
